In order to take action on the major growing concerns related to climate change, CCER centered its vision around the following core thematic areas, keeping in mind the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfilling Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) global commitments.
Framework that helps to achieve its environmental goals through consistent review, evaluation, & improvement of its environmental performance.
Research on climate change adaptation aims to moderate or avoid harm, and exploit opportunities; for natural systems, humans may intervene to help adjustment.
Research on mitigation – reducing climate change – involves reducing the flow of heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere…
Action based research on what businesses can do to mitigate and adapt to climate change to achieve goals such as Net Zero or Sustainability.
Solution based research focused on eliminating energy waste, using less energy to perform the same task, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for energy imports, and lowering the gross costs for buildings.
Research on globally implemented low-carbon economies as a precursor to the more advanced, zero-carbon economy and deriving the economies to shift on energy sources that produce low levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
About us
Pakistan has suffered heavily due to impacts of climate change and several studies shows that in the coming years and decades the vulnerability is likely to be intensified due to increased floods, heatwaves, locust attacks and water shortages. Against this background, the need for building local climate resilience and institutional capacity is critical. Thus establishment of CCER is a manifestation of several factors such as development of human capacity, understanding climate change and solution driven applied research in Climate change sector.
